My journey in Kuala Lumpur was tiring but memorable. It was a long business/leisure trip but I managed to sneak in some sightseeing before our actual team building starts. My company made me come to Kuala Lumpur earlier than planned since my boss will drive up to the city with only one of my colleagues so since I can work everywhere (mobile=laptop), I gathered things and packed up hurriedly that week for an early drive to Kuala Lumpur, my first trip to the capital of Malaysia.

I was able to visit the famous Petronas Tower on my second day in the bustling city. It was a must to see one of the tallest building around the world. It had helped Malaysia placed itself on the map of must sees. I remember seeing it in the movie Entrapment long ago.

I had to queue up early in the morning to get tickets in the last show/entry for the sky bridge. It was free but you had to be early to get the earliest time possible. They start giving tickets at around 830am. We planned to go there after work so we got the tickets for the 630pm show. For a supposed short trip up (around less than a minute lift going up), we had to endure a 10-15 minutes show about Petronas’ history (as it is the oil company of Malaysia).

You’ll be given an ID to be able to enter then they’ll divide the group into 2 (to get inside the lift). We had to wait for our turn. Going up was pretty fast as the guide introduces the Skybridge to us, she would be on the dot to end at the same time we reach the floor. They gave us 10 minutes to explore the sky bridge. It boasts to be one of the tallest sky bridge (170m above the ground).

Honestly, it wasn’t impressive enough walking along the sky bridge. I was more astounded by Petronas when I looked at them from below. It really looked like two steel bars!

Note: It’s closed during Mondays.

The scene at night was more breathtaking. I recommend you to visit it when it’s lit up. You can see it from a far like two light bulbs reminding you that you’re in Malaysia.

Going there through train: Alight at KLCC station.
The bottom part of the Petronas is Surya KLCC mall where there are a lot of high end brand you can window shop around.center>,
