one too many travel adventures
I had a strange dream when I was young, that I saw some old ruined Church in a big open space. It seemed so real that time that it left me bothered the whole time. In one fateful channel surfing moment, my thumb suddenly stopped in some travel channel that featured this European-ish place in Asia called Macau! I heard this before…long before Jetstar and Air Asia started its cheap flight to that place. I had an inkling that it was near Hong Kong. Seeing all those wonderful articles about it, I was itching to visit and experience the Portuguese culture mixed in China. It was a longing that I learned to suppress till last year.

My friends were planning for trip from Singapore, after cancelling out places we were not interested in, we end up choosing somewhere that is near our shopping destination (Hong Kong). Macau was a first time thing for us. I certainly had some researching done before going there. We had limited time in Macau thus we had to limit our tours.
Senado Sqaure was the most famous as it also connects very near to St Paul’s Cathedral (which is the old ruins of a Church which burnt down during a typhoon a century ago).

We tried quaint restaurants along the area (which was served by a lot of Filipinos, wasn’t surprised by this because Macau is really near Philippines). The friendly servants gave a lot of advises to make our trip worth it (like those free hotel hopping through their shuttles, free taste of egg tarts along the way to St. Paul’s Cathedral).

As beautiful as it was in the movies, that was where I was last February (for the Chinese New Year Break). Phi Phi Island became hugely famous after the movie the Beach where Leonardo Di Caprio starred. I seem to hear this theme song strung my mind when I was lounging on the beach of Phi Phi. Though at times, I seem to remember the tragedy of the tsunami which also swept these islands.

It was just as vivid as I remember, the colors were so really how it is in these pictures. Although the beach at Krabi were not as beautiful, the islands saved the trip. My only complain was that we were always on the boat!
I pretty pissed by this travelnow.ph which I have no choice but to avail since it is a travel voucher…I could have book cheaper flights but they offer something so high!!!
Stressed me out…..But good thing there’s this Agoda. I will definitely book from here for my upcoming Beijing Shanghai trip with my family. Hope I can be the tour guide that can bring them around to the places I’ve love. We were suppose to go Japan, but heck!!! the visa thing for my dad!!!
Argh..I’m certainly stress…travel planning is fun but together with work…oh man! I’m doom to be thinking here and there!
I recall living in Singapore for a year and a half…often wondering what other things I can discover. I get to tour the place just when friends visit honestly. I guess because Singapore is so small that you can tour it only once then done.
Singapore had hosted the night racing for F1 last year. Even though I wasn’t able to watch the show live, I was able to hear the cars zooming the streets.
It’s good to see Singapore at night. You don’t need to worry about safety plus you can definitely walk around by foot. One of the most visited site is the Merlion. Although it was struck by lightning not so long ago, I think it is one of the landmarks of Singapore.

Repost from Beijing Travel Bug
There are a bunch of sports activities you can do in Beijing. But one of the famous seasonal sports is Skiing. Usually, resorts start to open around end of November or whenever the year’s winter season starts.

Nanshan Ski Resort is one of the biggest and popular ski resort in Beijing. It’s located on the outskirts of the city, around 2 hours drive away from the city. During weekends, people flock the area to ski, snowboard, snow mobile, toboggan etc. Having 13 runs that is about 1500 meters long, the ski resorts boast to offer the best ski/snowboard experience. They also have the flying thing, where there’s a cable that connects to a glide that you can ride to enjoy the spectacular view from above.
One of the most exciting part of visiting Hongkong is that you will be able to fill your stomach with good food. The best dimsum, the best goose/duck and of course, the best Chinese style desserts!

If you are around Mongkok, don’t forget to pass by this dessert place called Hui Lau Shan. They have the best Mango Pudding I have tried in Hong kong. You see, I didn’t even have time to take picture of it once I took a bite. The mango pudding is smothered with sweet mango puree and topped with coconut ice cream and a slice of mango. Ohh….I miss this! We passed by this late at night (almost 12pm) but still a lot of people are still taking a queue.
Another famous dessert place in Hongkong is Honeymoon desserts. We ate at their branch in Central IFC Mall. The place is well lit and very cozy though the seats are typically wooden (which becomes uncomfortable after a while).
