You want to feast on local Singapore dishes at a cheaper price? Well, you better head your way to Chomp Chomp! Tourists were usually lured to more expensive areas for hawker food centre, like Newton Circus or Lau Pa Sat in Raffles.
Chomp Chomp is located near Serangoon Gardens, at 20 Kensington Park Road . We head our way to Toa Payoh Central bus station, riding bus 153 or 317. If you came somewhere else, you can just use Streetdirectory to find out how to reach that place. The beauty of Singapore is that everywhere seems to be within reach, just be patient that sometimes it will take an hour by commute when by car it will probably just take 20 minutes!

I noticed a lot of locals enjoy eating out (guess that preparing food is more hassle than buying them in a nearby hawker centre). More laid back dining here for sure however it’s quite small, I recall that it only had 4 aisles of hawker food stalls.

Before anything else, order this HUGE sugarcane juice! This is the one thing that made me come back for the last time! My dare to my friends was to finish this all by myself and drag others to follow my lead! Silly dare that made me regret because it was an hour bus ride back to our place!

The usual hawker staples were:
a. Satay
b. Char Kway Teow
c. Spicy Clams
d. BBQ chicken wings
e. Friend Carrot Cake Black
another new thing we discovered here was corn bits (covered with duck egg yolk I think, but the one in Beijing was much much more yummy!

We felt we over ordered, the couple beside us were gossiping about how we were eating like there’s no tomorrow. To heck with that, this was one of my unforgettable food trips! Cheap, good and full!
