one too many travel adventures
Ready or not, I was bound to visit Bicol in the heights of cheap local tickets. Here I was, still so disheveled from the busy ber months. I was keen to visit the place that was said to be more beautiful than my favorite beach (?) Boracay. neverrr
Bicol is somewhere south of Luzon (typical you can actually ride an 8-hr bus going there, but to make things faster, fly for less than an hour!) We booked on PAL landing in Legazpi early morning, my head was still heavy from the lack of sleep. We were worried why our friend Pane didn’t reached the airport, with no heads up why, later we found out she overslept!
Seeing Mt. Mayon before we landed was such a beauty though I heard that time it was still at level 2 (some smokes still evident). All I remembered was long trips ahead. From Legazpi, 2 hours of van ride then another 1.5 hours riding the boat going to Caramoan.
The long trip might bore you so be ready with your snacks and Ipod!

I was wishing to get a good nights sleep upon arriving however our hotel West Penn Villa (supposed) booked those Survivor producers instead of us! They referred us to some sloppy inn which they said was “the same”. Argh..it was the most irritating thing. Talk about such service!
Cutting the long story short, we stayed only for a night (as initially planned), had a quick island hopping late afternoon. I think if it wasn’t Survivor season, it would have been delightful to stay at Gota Village. Bad timing, I heard it usually opens to public the later part of the year.
Caramoan is still developing its island. We paved through roads under construction, ate at small carinderia for the most part in the island. I think the unspoiled beauty will become commercialized soon. Good change or bad? You guys judge

I’ll tackle the next parts of our trip in another entry.
